The 50% Edge 540 ARF is a product of precision engineering and state of the art construction techniques. This plane has the latest design hinging system that offers perfect controllability and deflection of control surfaces. These “pocket” hinges offer the serious 3D’ers up to 70 degrees control throw deflection on ailerons and elevators. The 50% Edge 540 is 3D ready or under normal control rates the easiest “big plane” around. With the 3W-275 this plane has AWSEMOME performance, landing speeds; takeoff distances and flight characteristics will match any 40% aerobatic airplane performaces. This is a super light aircraft designed to be the very BEST 50% aerobatic airplane available in the world.
The fuselage has plywood interlocking formers and foam turtle deck and canopy hatch sheeted with balsa. A full span carbon spar system and “hollow core” technology wing cores produce a very light and strong wing plus a 2.5” carbon wing tube holds everything together for superior strength. The airframe is covered in Ultracote ™ and the wheel pants and engine cowling are pre-painted with epoxy paints. The Edge 540 comes complete with a hand polished landing gear and tail wheel. Ailerons and elevator come pre hinged, factory installed ready for flight. Removable stabs and rudder make for easy transportation.
